Advanced Wireless Bridge Kit

E-mail Print PDF

Sonora Comm offers an excellent site-to-site Advanced Wireless Bridging Kit for applications such as building-to-building connections over distances up to 20 miles.

The bridging kit comes pre-configured and will come up bridged at power-up.

These are just some rough connection notes intended for internal consumption.

Management Access

The default IP addresses of the radios (labeled "A" and "B") are 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.101.

The first step in configuring the units should be to create a user and assign a secure password.

Security

The new advanced bridging kit offers WPA2 encryption over the bridged link, however, this functionality is not turned on by default.

You must select a passphrase and enable the WPA2 security.

Antenna Alignment

To perform antenna alignment, you must configure at least one of the radios to WDS+AP mode, at least until you get the alignment done.  You can then drop the units back to WDS-only mode for pure bridge applications.

Use the Site Survey page and the refresh button on your browser.

Connection Rate

Depending on your application, you may not want to use "Turbo" mode as it takes several channels to accomplish.
