Personal Web Space

E-mail Print PDF

Would you like to put up your own personal web site?

If you would, and you already have a mail account on our SonoraMail mail server, then you are in luck.  All e-mail accounts on our mail server, whether or not you use your own domain or ours (, already include a personal web space.  All you have to do is customize it.

The personal web space shares your e-mail disk quota.  The standard disk quota is 50MB, which should be fine for most folks.  If you desire more disk space, it is easy to add and very inexpensive.  Please e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to request more disk space.

Just use your regular e-mail username and password.

How to Post (Upload) Files

You need to use the FTP protocol to upload your files.

FTP:          www.your.domain  (probably

Web Folder:   web  (web site files go in this folder)

Home Page:    index.html  (replace the default)

You  can use most any web page creation tool or FTP tool to post your web site.

For Windows, I like FileZilla, a free FTP tool.  If you use the Firefox web browser under Linux or Windows, there is a very cool plugin called FireFTP that works great and doesn't require the installation of yet another program on your PC.

For page creation, I like Kompozer, a free page creation tool with upload capability.  It's available for Linux or Windows.

Accessing Your Personal Web Space
